On August 11th, a man in Shanghai claimed to have purchased two "brand new folding beds" with plastic covers, but found that the beds were marked with the words "disaster relief supplies". On the 12th, the Emergency Management Bureau of Pudong New Area, Shanghai confirmed to Jimu News reporters that the bed was a used rescue material that was supposed to be sent to a steel plant for destruction after being disinfected and sealed again, but was sold without authorization. It is currently under strict investigation.

On the morning of the 12th, Mr. Dai, a resident of Shanghai, told Jimu News reporters that on the 11th, he bought two beds at the market because someone came to his home temporarily. In the end, he bought two folding beds with plastic covers at a second-hand goods store on Hangxing Road in Pudong New Area for 160 yuan each, which looked brand new. After arriving home, he found that the bed was printed with words related to disaster relief supplies, and next to it was written "Scan the code to trace the entire process". Mr. Dai asked the shop owner, who said he came from a legal channel, but he is still worried about whether this bed can be used.

The video provided by Mr. Dai shows that the blue single bed is printed with the words "supervised by the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People's Republic of China", and there is also traceability code on the bed.

On August 12th, a reporter from Jimu News contacted the shop owner who sold beds to Mr. Dai. He claimed that on June 12th, he purchased dozens of newly folded single beds with plastic covers in a shed under an elevated bridge on Hangrui Road in Pudong New Area. Previously, he sold some of them one after another, and now there are still some stored in the warehouse.

The payment record provided by the shop owner shows that on June 12th, he transferred 3975 yuan to a seller nicknamed "One Ma Pingchuan" on WeChat. He sold me a bed for 53 yuan, but I didn't sell it even if I asked him to pay 5 yuan less. "The shop owner also said that there were other things being dealt with at the scene at the time." I walked to the door to see and was selling scrap iron, "and besides him, there were other people who also bought this batch of beds. He told reporters that these materials were openly traded, so he thought they were reasonable and legal.

According to the source code on the bed, this batch of beds was produced by Ningbo Yixiang Blow Molding Furniture Co., Ltd. on December 20, 2020 and delivered to a warehouse of a certain unit in Shanghai on February 4, 2021.

The project leader of Ningbo Yixiang Blow Molding Furniture Co., Ltd. replied to Jimu News reporters that the factory did indeed produce the above-mentioned folding bed, and after attaching the source code, it was delivered to the warehouse of the above-mentioned unit. As for how this batch of materials will be circulated, used, and processed in the future, they are not clear, and products with traceability codes will not be sold to the market by the factory.

On the noon of the 12th, the above-mentioned unit that received the material confirmed to the reporter that according to the source code, the bed is an emergency material. In February 2021, a batch of 20000 folding beds did enter their warehouse, and the materials were transferred to the Emergency Management Bureau of Pudong New Area, Shanghai in April 2022. They are not aware of how the Emergency Management Bureau will handle this batch of materials.

The staff of Pudong New Area Civil Affairs Bureau stated that the management authority of emergency supplies has been transferred to the Emergency Management Bureau.

The warehouse management personnel of Shanghai Pudong New Area Emergency Management Bureau confirmed to Jimu News reporters that there was a batch of beds among the rescue supplies disposed of in Pudong New Area in 2022. Due to the influx of new materials into the warehouse, the relocation of old materials began at the end of May this year. It is required to clean and disinfect this batch of used old beds, seal and package them, and send them to the steel plant for destruction. But for some unknown reason, someone sold the bed that should have been returned to the steel mill without authorization. The leaders of the Emergency Management Bureau attach great importance to this matter and are conducting a thorough investigation.
