On June 20th local time, Russian President Putin concluded his visit to Vietnam. Before leaving Vietnam, Putin held a press conference in Hanoi to summarize his visits to North Korea and Vietnam. Putin criticized NATO for expanding its influence in Asia and posing a security threat to countries in the region such as Russia. He also pointed out that South Korea does not need to worry about the Russia North Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty, but if South Korea decides to provide weapons to Ukraine, it will "make a big mistake".

South Korea's Strong Response to the New Treaty between Russia and North Korea, Putin Sends a Warning

According to Reuters on June 20th, citing Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean National Security Council strongly condemned the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Russia and North Korea on June 19th. The official statement released by South Korea on the 20th stated that "the South Korean government clearly emphasizes that any cooperation that directly or indirectly helps North Korea enhance military power is a violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and will be subject to international supervision and sanctions." The statement added that this will worsen the relationship between South Korea and Russia.

South Korea has stated that it will seriously consider the possibility of providing lethal weapons to Ukraine. Previously, North Korean and Russian leaders signed a treaty promising to provide mutual defense in the event of war.

In response to South Korea's statement, Putin warned that if South Korea provides weapons to Ukraine, it will "make a big mistake", and Russia cannot rule out supplying high-precision weapons to North Korea as a response.

Putin: Fantasy Russia's withdrawal? impossible!

Putin also discussed the issue of Ukraine at a press conference held in Hanoi, Vietnam. He emphasized that Ukraine fantasizes about Russia's withdrawal, "which will never happen," because the Kiev regime's demand for Russia's withdrawal is only to delay negotiations, make the conflict permanent, and use it as a reason to continue in power.

According to reports from Russia News Agency and "Russia Today" (RT), Putin made it clear at the press conference that the Kiev regime "is not interested in holding elections" and will only continue to rule by delaying a ceasefire and demanding that the Russian side withdraw its troops.

"If the Russia Ukraine negotiations are linked to the Kiev regime's fantastical withdrawal demands, then this will never happen," Putin said. "Because the Kiev regime does not want to give up power or hold normal elections according to the Ukrainian constitution, they will forever delay ceasefire negotiations. This means that the Kiev regime wants our troops to stay there because they do not want to hold elections."

On May 20th local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky's five-year presidential term expired. Due to the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Ukrainian government issued a martial law order, and the new presidential election has been postponed indefinitely. Putin has repeatedly questioned Zelensky's legitimacy as the head of state.

"Western countries have lowered the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons"

When asked about how to view the West's rejection of the peace talks it proposed last week, Putin said that the Western response was "in line with expectations," but wise politicians would consider the Russian proposal if they want to end the conflict. "What will happen in the future, time will prove everything, it all depends on how the situation develops."

Putin reiterated that Russia has always been willing to negotiate on the Ukrainian issue, and accused Ukraine and its western supporters of undermining the achievements of the Minsk process and the Russia Ukraine talks in Türkiye at the beginning of the conflict. He reminded that the peace terms he proposed will not be forever valid.

It is worth noting that Putin made the latest statement on the issue of nuclear weapons in this speech. He stated that Russia is considering changing its nuclear principles due to Western countries lowering the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons. But he also pointed out that Moscow believes that launching a preemptive nuclear strike is "meaningless, at least for now.".

Putin stated that Russia has once again proposed a genuine peace proposal today, but if the West and Ukraine refuse, they will be responsible for the bloodshed.

Putin finally emphasized that Ukraine's neutrality, non alignment, and non nuclear status, as well as demilitarization and non Nazism, remain Russia's principled position.
