Trump says he will no longer engage in televised debates with Harris

On Thursday (September 12th), Trump posted on his own social media platform Truth Social, once again declaring himself the winner of the debate on Tuesday (10th) evening and writing in all capital letters: "There won't be a third debate



[Poll: Harris slightly expands lead after debate, half of voters believe Trump loses] Harris and Trump had their first televised debate on Tuesday night (September 10), and the Reuters/Ipsos poll results from September 10-11 showed that Harris had a 5-point lead in support among registered voters over Trump. The Reuters/Ipsos poll from August 21st to 28th showed Harris leading Trump by 4 percentage points.



Among voters who watched at least a small portion of Tuesday's presidential debate, 53% said Harris won, 24% said Trump won, and the rest did not say whether they watched the debate or did not answer questions.

After a televised debate with his Democratic opponent Harris, Republican presidential candidate Trump boasted of his satisfactory performance, but some Republican officials, donors, and advisers believe that he messed up the debate.



Six Republican donors and three Trump advisers interviewed by Reuters believe that Trump's failure to focus on conveying information was the main factor that allowed Harris to win this debate. Several of them expressed frustration over Trump's amplification of online rumors that immigrants eat cats and dogs.
