According to the website of the Russian newspaper Businessman on May 25th, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced that he will not consider the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement with Russia. In his view, the Russian military may take the opportunity to consolidate their positions.

Zelensky Announces No Consideration of Ceasefire with Russia

According to the report, Zelensky believes that such an agreement would only be meaningful if both armies remained within the national borders. He said in an interview with media from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, "The ceasefire now... is very, very dangerous for us." Kazakhstan's Akoda News Agency released an interview video.

He also stated that comments about the legitimacy of his presidency are meaningless and he is not too concerned about it.

The report mentioned that Russian President Putin said on the 24th that Zelensky's legitimacy as the President of Ukraine has come to an end.

Zelensky commented on this, "Ukrainians are familiar with their own constitution and understand the law. The views expressed by Putin regarding the legitimacy of the Ukrainian president... will not make me deeply uneasy."

Previously, according to Russian media reports, Russian President Putin stated that it is necessary to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine, but based on the principles of sound rationality, negotiations can be resumed from the agreements already reached. Putin said: "What we are witnessing now is that the topic of resuming negotiations has been revived. Let's talk about it, but not how one side wants to talk about it. The premise is that it is based on the fundamental consensus reached during the negotiations between Belarus and Türkiye, and cannot be divorced from the current ground realities."
